This challenging course will build upon student's knowledge of American history. Students will immerse themselves into the rich history of the United States, where they will learn to think historically by analyzing, evaluating, and understanding events and the development of the United States through primary and secondary sources. This course will examine United States history chronologically and conceptually, focusing on the development of the United States, its impact on the rest of the world, and elements and themes through time.
Students are expected to perform at a higher level, as they are entering into a high school classroom. With the changing of the curriculum at the National and State level, the focus is now on historical thinking and analyzation of historical ideas and themes. This class will prove to be very challenging for most students, but it will prepare them for later classes and the world around them. |
